This past weekend I had the true honor and pleasure to be able to attend an event that was held by Golden Dawn New York. This event brought local activists together with members and leadership of the party from back home in Greece. The event’s main focus was to be able to hear first hand of the Greek people’s struggles as the forces of globalism continue to wage an economic, social, and spiritual war against the Greek nation and the Greek Church. I have long been a Golden Dawn supporter, and this weekend of fellowship only reinforced what I already knew in my heart: that all Traditionalists should support Golden Dawn.
Golden Dawn is a nationalist political party in Greece. While the globalists, especially the European Union, have been looting Greece financially for years, the ruling mainstream political parties have done nothing to stand up for the best interests of the Greek people. Only Golden Dawn has taken a stand to retake economic Greece’s economic sovereignty for the people, to ensure that the natural resources and finances of Greece belong to the Greek people.
In addition to the globalists exporting Greek wealth and resources, they have been importing an endless stream of degeneracy to the Greek nation through the mass media and via the subversion of traditional Greek society and of the Holy Greek Orthodox Church. Through seizing education, the media, and other parts of society, the globalists have been unceasingly marching towards the disintegration of the Greek Faith and folk.
The plan to utterly destroy the heart and soul of the Greek people is not a new one, as it was outlined by Jewish neo-con Secretary of State Henry Kissinger back in 1974. Kissinger told reporters that, “The Greek people are anarchic and difficult to tame. For this reason we must strike deep into their cultural roots: Perhaps then we can force them to conform. I mean, of course, to strike at their language, their religion, their cultural and historical reserves, so that we can neutralize their ability to develop, to distinguish themselves, or to prevail.” This is a war of total spiritual and cultural destruction, and for many years the Greek people have been without a voice to speak for them, until the arrival of Golden Dawn.
Golden Dawn has risen as a political movement of the people to fulfill the needs of the people, where the mainstream political parties have not only failed, but totally abandoned their responsibilities and duties. As Greeks starve, the mainstream parties promote cutting wages and pensions to the bone while bringing in hordes of new immigrants from the Third World. Golden Dawn has taken their political donations and instead of hording it, given it back to the Greek people. Throughout Greece Golden Dawn has sponsored food distribution events for the impoverished Greeks and their families who have been hit hard by the economic recession. While most politicians talk, Golden Dawn has walked the walk in actually serving the people of Greece.
Not simply content with fulfilling the physical needs of the Greek people, Golden Dawn has also undertaken the battle for the soul of Greece. One example is the recent protest in Athens held against the blasphemous play “Corpus Christi.” This play portrays Christ and His Apostles as being active homosexuals to participate in degenerate acts with one another.
While elected officials from the Leftist SYRIZA and the Democratic Left were sitting in the theater to watch this sinful play, Golden Dawn members stood with Orthodox clergy and faithful outside to protest against this attack on the Orthodox Faith. Golden Dawn and Orthodox faithful stood against the forces of anarchists, communists, and riot police and were able to not only hold a protest, but get the premier of the play cancelled. Golden Dawn not only protests, they create real change in the political realm and on the streets of Greece.
Mainstream Greek political parties are alleged to bring drugs, prostitutes, and a flood of alcohol to their events. Meanwhile, Golden Dawn often has Orthodox priests and monks in attendance to bless their members and supporters. Golden Dawn has time after time shown their dedication to the physical and spiritual health of Greece by supporting economic reform, charity to those in need, a solution to the immigration crisis, a cultural revival, and Orthodoxy.
One supporter of Golden Dawn is Anthimos the Elder from Mount Athos. His solution to Greece’s problems is expressed by this simple phrase: “Love, repentance, orthodoxy, should be our motto. Throw out the usurers and the invaders. We shall not give our country to any foreigner who it does not belong to and illegal immigrants should go back to where they came from.”
Golden Dawn has faced attacks in the media by globalists and their puppets, mass arrests with no charges, and even physical attacks. Two Golden Dawn members were martyred by the Leftist group the Militant People’s Revolutionary Forces. Manolis Kapelonis and Giorgos Fountoulis were killed for believing that Greece has a right to remain Greek and that the Greek culture, of which Orthodoxy plays a central role, should be allowed to survive and thrive. These two men would easily be considered passion bearers and of course the mainstream political parties and police did nothing to bring the murderers of these two men to justice.
With global and local oppression, Golden Dawn has continued to stand for the best interests of the Greek people and the Greek Church. This message has not only been isolated to Greece, but has been brought to the diaspora, wherever there are Greeks the Greek nation is also there. With the idea of the global Greek diaspora united in the same struggle in mind, General Giorgios Epitideios and other representatives of Golden Dawn came to New York, and I was allowed to attend this historic event.
The event began many hours before the actual speaking engagement began, it started in perhaps the most beautiful Church I have ever had the pleasure to attend. Surrounded by my brothers and sisters in the Orthodox Faith, and by the Blessed Saints of our Church, I was able to participate in the Divine Liturgy with General Michalis Giannagkonas and members of both Golden Dawn Greece and New York activists.
While I do not speak Greek, the beauty and power of the Divine Liturgy washed over my wife and I as we worshiped with our comrades. The General especially seemed very devout and in all my interactions with him I felt a spiritual warmness emanating from him.
At the end of liturgy the General and the members of Golden Dawn came forward to be blessed by the priest and receive a small piece of blessed bread. The priest was kind enough to shake the General’s hand and to extend a fatherly blessing over the Golden Dawn members.
Outside of the Church we found a Greek beggar who was crippled with only one leg. While people on the street passed by him, the General took the time to talk with the man and to give him both money and encouragement, a true demonstration of Christian kindness towards those less fortunate. To the members of Golden Dawn it became clear that helping the Greek people did not stop at the borders of Greece, the mission is to help all Greeks in need both at home and in the diaspora.
Later that evening the conference was held at a beautiful location in the predominantly Greek part of New York. I was pleased to see not only Golden Dawn members, but also a good number of interested locals who came to learn more about the Party and to hear the General speak. While the globalist media has spent millions of dollars and countless hours attacking Golden Dawn, it appears that the people are resisting the indoctrination and are opening their eyes to the real plight facing Western civilization.
The General spoke in Greek, with an English translator for myself and several others who did not speak Greek, and he spoke eloquently about the current plight of Greece both economically and socially. After his talk, members of the audience were allowed to hold a question and answer session to further delve into the policies of Golden Dawn and the future for the movement.
While the media call men like the General “criminals,” I could not help but smile when thinking about that label. Here sat a man who offered up his own life to serve Greece, and now in retirement is still fighting for the best interests of Greece and the Greek people. Men of this caliber seem to not be found as often these days, and it is refreshing to see a selfless patriot and dedicated Christian who is willing to stand against the entire organized forces of globalism to ensure a better future for the next generation.
After the event, many of us went to a local Greek restaurant for food and fellowship. Being surrounded by Greeks, speaking Greek, eating Greek cuisine, and celebrating Greek culture was a powerful experience that shows the strength and depth of organic community. Members of the Greek nation spread throughout the world were able to come together as brothers and sisters without a divide between them, a power that Western nationalists should remember is found in both culture and a shared Faith.
As the evening came to a close and it was time to start my long drive back to Indiana, I pondered about all I had experienced at the event and with the fellowship found with members of Golden Dawn. The Party has a clear vision for Greece, one of economic prosperity, peace, and Orthodoxy. The enemies of Tradition might wail and even kill us, but Christ Himself said that the “Gates of Hell shall not prevail” over the Christian Church and those who follow Him. Now more than ever I am proud to say, Hail the Golden Dawn!
